From Lake Garda to Venice – “Like Paris<\/a>, Venice is a great city”, we wanted to see for ourselves. From Lake Garda<\/strong> to Venice<\/strong> – that’s no distance at all.<\/p>\n A few years ago, wetook the train<\/strong> from Rovereto to Venice<\/strong> for a day trip<\/a><\/strong>. At that time we parked<\/strong> at the train station in Rovereto<\/strong>, the daily price<\/strong> was 5 euros<\/strong> (today it’s 6 euros). Getting a parking space was easy, there were enough free spaces<\/strong>. I can’t say what that looks like in the high season. I assume that July and August will be busier.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, there are also some construction sites around the station, which makes the parking situation a bit more difficult. The train journey<\/strong> itself was very pleasant<\/strong> and we only had to change trains<\/strong> once in Verona<\/a><\/strong>. However, parking is relatively expensive, the daily rate<\/strong> is 22,- Euro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Attention:<\/strong> The full daily rate is already due after the third hour of parking.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.25.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.25.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.25.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n From the parking garage<\/strong>, we headed straight to the water bus stop<\/strong>. On the way there we were welcomed by somewhat “shady” characters wanted. K\u00e4the recognized directly that they wanted to put us in an “unofficial” cab at inflated prices.<\/p>\n Fortunately, we found out beforehand how to get to our hotel in the best and cheapest way. Since we had already planned our activities for the day and also wanted to visit the city again the next day, we opted for a 2-day ticket<\/strong> for the official water bus<\/strong>. There was a long line at the ticket booth, luckily there is a ticket machine<\/strong> right at the stop for<\/strong> the water cabs.<\/p>\n Buying a ticket there was totally easy and self-explanatory. So why stand in line? For us the ticket was definitely worth it, we made several trips with it. Sailing along the canal<\/strong> by boat<\/strong> is also a special experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.25.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.25.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.25.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The boat ride (vaporetto) was short, it was only 2 stops to<\/strong> the Ponte Roma<\/strong>. Our Hotel Santa Chiara<\/a> was right at the bus stop.<\/p>\n The welcome at the hotel was super friendly<\/strong>, our room was also ready (despite arriving at 11:00 in the morning). As icing on the cake, we also got a room upgrade<\/strong> with a view of the Grand Canal.<\/strong> Our room was top equipped<\/strong>, clean and very comfortable.<\/p>\n The only drawback<\/strong>: we would have liked a free bottle of water, so we had to resort to the minibar.
